02 Feb 4 Tips on Keeping Your Workspace Organized
You might think that you don’t have time to organize your office, but you may reconsider if you realize how much time being disorganized can cost you. A clean and organized workspace increases productivity and wastes less time. The task of organizing your workspace can seem daunting, but if you take a little time to follow some of these tips, they can help improve your efficiency at work.
Declutter & Clean Your Workspace
Get rid of anything you haven’t used in a while, any distractions and things you no longer need. Take a few minutes at least every month to clean your workspace to keep everything in good condition.
Clear off Your Desk
Having your desk clear helps decrease distractions and increases productivity, efficiency and creativity. Only keep things on your desk that you use daily and organize it. File away other papers and put away anything else that does not need to be on your desk.
Revise Your Current Filing System
Reassess what is working and what is not working with your current filing system. Make changes to processes that are not working. Keep all files neatly labeled in a place that is easy for you to remember where you can quickly access anything you need.
Straighten Your Desk Daily
At the end of the workday, straighten your desk before you leave. This will help your efficiency as you begin working each day to have your workspace organized, cleaned and cleared off.
